On June 10 to 11, young writers coming from tertiary schools all over Southern Tagalog will congregate at the Continuing Education Center (CEC), University of the Philippines – Los Baños, Laguna for the 4th Pandiwa Writing Congress.
The regional writing congress, established by the UPLB Writers Club, offers a wide range of learning opportunities for writers and serves as a platform for meaningful literary discourse. With this year’s theme: “Panitikan at Diwa Laban Sa Kultura ng Karahasan”, the 2-day congress aims to highlight literature as an instrument against the culture of violence that plagues society today.
The congress is dedicated to both basic and advanced literary courses with several talks from our resource speakers. Some of the sessions include creative and non-fiction writing, gender-related literature, graphic literature, literary criticism, poetry writing, short story writing and writing for children.
Last day of online application is on June 6, 2017 (Tuesday), 11:59 PM. Registration fee is Php 1,000 (inclusive of event pass to the plenary, classroom discussions and cultural night, event kit, meals for two days and accommodation for one night.)
